Using the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope, also dubbed the "China Sky Eye," scientists have identified 509 new pulsars, which is more than four times the total amount of pulsars identified by other telescopes around the world.
科學家已利用中國天眼(FAST)發現509顆脈衝星，是世界上所有其他望遠鏡發現脈衝星總數的4倍以上。
Located in a naturally deep and round karst depression in Southwest China's Guizhou province, FAST started formal operations in January 2020. It is believed to be the world's most sensitive radio telescope.
FAST位於中國西南部貴州省的一個天然深圓形喀斯特窪地，於2020年1月正式執行，被認為是世界上最靈敏的射電望遠鏡。
Based on data collected by FAST, scientists have published over 120 papers.
據悉，目前基於FAST收集的資料發表的科研論文已超過120篇。
With the help of the advanced telescope, Chinese research teams have become a key force in studying fast radio bursts.
在FAST的助力下，我國相關科研團隊迅速成為國際快速射電暴領域的核心研究力量。

A red lantern carrying the 2022 Winter Olympics flame that arrived in Beijing this October has drawn much attention for its delicate designs.

The lantern was inspired by the ancient Changxin Palace Lantern. "Changxin" means eternal faith in Chinese.

Originating from the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-25 AD), the Changxin Palace Lantern has an exquisite, environmentally friendly design, in keeping with the concept of a green Olympics.
長信宮燈是西漢時期（公元前206-公元25年）的宮燈，造型別致，設計巧妙環保，與綠色奧運的辦賽理念不謀而合。
The flying red ribbon design of the upper part of the lantern symbolizes the passion of the winter event.
飛舞的紅色絲帶環繞火種燈頂部，象徵著拼搏的奧運激情。
The lantern’s structure uses renewable aluminum alloy and its lampshade features double-layer glass, ensuring the flame won't go out in low temperatures, severe cold or strong winds.
燈體使用了環保材料再生鋁合金，燈罩是雙層玻璃結構，保證了火種在低溫、嚴寒、大風等自然環境下不會熄滅。

>Livestreaming host fined for tax evasion
薇婭偷逃稅被罰13.4億元
Top livestreaming host Huang Wei, better known as Viya, has been fined 1.34 billion yuan for tax evasion, the latest step in stronger regulation of the booming livestreaming e-commerce industry.
"直播帶貨一姐"薇婭（本名黃薇）因偷逃稅被追繳並處罰款13.4億元，這是我國對蓬勃發展的直播電商行業加強監管的最新動作。
Between 2019 and 2020, Huang evaded 643 million yuan in tax by concealing her personal income and falsely declaring the nature of her income while failing to pay 60 million yuan in other taxes, according to a statement released on Monday by the Hangzhou taxation bureau in Zhejiang province. According to the law, Huang was fined 1.34 billion yuan, including tax payments and overdue fines, the statement said.
浙江省杭州市稅務局12月20日釋出訊息，薇婭在2019年至2020年期間，透過隱匿個人收入、虛構業務轉換收入性質虛假申報等方式偷逃稅款6.43億元，其他少繳稅款0.6億元，依法對黃薇作出稅務行政處理處罰決定，追繳稅款、加收滯納金並處罰款共計13.4億元。

>South Korea bans gatherings of 5 or more
韓國叫停與病毒共存模式
South Korea has prohibited private social gatherings of five or more people nationwide and forced restaurants to close at 9 pm, rolling out the country's toughest coronavirus restrictions.

The new measures will be enforced for at least 16 days after taking effect on Saturday.
