Universal Joy: A Song of Life
Zhang Mingshan
The flowers in Luoyang, the moon of the Liang Garden. The fine flowers and the bright moon need to be purchased. Leaning against the balustrade, I appreciate the flowers that are brilliantly blooming. Holding the wine cup, I ask the moon why it is so full at such a night. The moon waxes and wanes; the flowers boom and fade. The bitterest part of life must be the separation. If the flowers fade, the third month of spring will be approaching; if the moon wanes, the Mid-Autumn will arrive soon. But if you are gone, when will you come back again?

Sentimental Attachment to Prime
To the Tune of Jubilation All over the World
Zhang Mingshan
Peony in Luoyang the best flowers,
Moonlight in Liangyuan the best hours.
The charming flowers can be bought,
But the moonlight with money cannot be got.
Waste no time appreciating flowers at their height,
Drink to the harvest moon when it shines at night.
The moon waxes and wanes and flowers bloom and fade,
What vexes us most is the time to bid farewell.
Flowers will bloom again with the advent of spring,
The moon will wax on the Mid-Autumn Day,
But when will you come back from far away?
